London Freight Club

London Freight Club

Christine Nichols made history as the first woman in more than 70 years to serve as Chair of the London Freight Club — one of the UK’s longest-established and most respected logistics and international trade organisations.

Her appointment marked an important milestone for the freight and supply chain sector, helping to highlight the vital role of logistics in supporting UK trade and encouraging greater diversity within an industry that has traditionally been male-dominated.

During her tenure, Christine actively championed the development of future female leaders across the sector, encouraging wider participation and helping to build a stronger pipeline of women progressing into senior industry roles.

This commitment has already had a lasting impact. Julie Curran, who works alongside Christine within the Atlantic Pacific Group, has since gone on to become the second woman to chair the London Freight Club — a clear example of the growing representation of women in leadership within the sector.

Christine remains a passionate advocate for inclusion, mentoring and leadership development, and continues to support initiatives that promote opportunity and diversity across the UK logistics and international trade community.

Founded in 1953, the London Freight Club is a leading organisation for professionals across the freight forwarding, shipping and logistics industry, bringing together members from across the UK while also raising significant funds for charitable causes.
